Signing on Broadway – Westfield Newmarket a solid performance

Signing on Broadway – Westfield Newmarket a solid performance

We won the tender to do the signage for Westfield Newmarket. It was tough, with strict quality criteria and budget to meet. But it’s the kind of gig the Capitol Signs team lives and breathes…

Mark Skeet, contracts manager for Scentre Group NZ, outlines the brief: We wanted a supplier who could handle multiple works streams as part of a rebrand, with external signage a major part of that.

“Our signage directly influences awareness and opinion of our brand. It was very important that we partnered with the right vendor to get the results we wanted.

“Capitol Signs were very accommodating, professional and dedicated. The team undertook this project in an organised and strategic fashion, which simplified the process, and they always responded quickly and efficiently to our needs.

“From creativity, to conception, project management, manufacturing, installation, customer service, and attention to detail, everything ran smoothly.”

This was the largest single one-off project we have completed to date. It entailed hundreds of signage elements:

  • Manufacture and installation of 20 stainless halo lit letter sets – one for every entry to the mall
  • More than 1300 directory signs, including hanging illuminated double-sided sign cases to illuminate lift directories and free-standing plinths
  • Columns on all levels of the car park, including vinyl decals and 700+ road and safety signs
  • Stainless individual identification plaques for more than 700 cupboards or rooms
  • The same for all internal mall facing doors, but instead in router cut acrylic

Large scale illuminated channel letter sets for anchor tenants were manufactured and mounted to stone cladding, louvre systems and all manner of cladding through out the mall’s two addresses on Broadway, Newmarket.

We wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Thanks to Mark at Scentre Group NZ and the team at Westfield Newmarket for the opportunity.
